GENERAL NOTES

The value of the total wage reported in this variable should equal the value of the basic wage in addition to bonuses, benefits, allowances, profits, etc.

When the original dataset has only wage categories, the total wage is calculated as the midpoint of the range provided.


COUNTRY SPECIFIC NOTES
----------------------------------
The wages are provided either daily, weekly, monthly or yearly in pounds.
The daily wages were multiplied by 30, the weekly wages were multiplied by 4 and the yearly wages were divided by 12 to generate a new variable indicating monthly wages.
